The kits include everything required to replace an existing expansion device with an electronic solution.

The Emerson XEV Kit includes a combination of commonly needed components for field installation of an energy-efficient, electronic expansion valve solution, including the Emerson EX series valve, XEV controller, pressure transducer, temperature sensor, transformer, and all associated cables, all in one box. The key benefits include:

Applicable to multiple refrigerants, including R-404A, R-507, R-407A, R-22, R-134a, R-410A and subcritical CO2
Several kit offerings for a wide range of valve capacities
Specific kit instructions included for faster installation
Controller is pre-programmed for use with the included components, allowing for easy setup
An RS485 serial link (Modbus) allows the controller to connect to monitoring systems
Controller kit also available that includes all control components without the EXV solution
“The XEV Kit allows contractors to service systems easily with the tools they need in one easy-to-use package. Mechanical valves may not allow efficient control of the case during low load or low head pressure conditions. Emerson’s EX Series valve and XEV controller allows customers to manage refrigerant systems electronically and ensure a stable flow of refrigerant across a wide range of operating conditions. The broad operating range, excellent resolution, and superb control characteristics of the Emerson XEV Kit provides the framework for substantial energy savings and more stable environment temperatures.
